Mathew (left), Tarsien (below) and Pookee (below right). I still hope to start their Timeloss comic at some point.
I have a lot of memories of beaches and the ocean; I was trying to go for a bit of a timeless (ha!) or memory idea/theme/thing. Mathew is having a bit of a thoughtful/emo moment there.
Well, I don't think I've ever put so much time into another picture. If I don't get away from it now I don't know if I'll stop.
I hope you like it. I'm very pleased with it, but its also pointed out some areas I can improve in.
I LOVE the detail in the waves. It's by far my favorite part of the picture. It just naturally gets across a sense of motion. As for your two characters, I love their expressions. Awesome job!
I can see all the hard work and effort that has been poured into this @_@. The sky is amazing as is all the coloring. I really like Mathews pose as well.
Thanks! That's one of the areas I found most difficult, but it came together more as I kept working on it. I'm glad it has a sense of motion, though; I hoped it wouldn't look too static.
The characters were fun. Although I drew the original picture maybe... two, three months ago? So I kind of lost interest in them after a while.
XD Mathew's the main character for the story idea (when will I get around to writing that comic?? I don't know : | ) so I'm glad he looks cute here. He's supposed to be lively but emo sometimes (like most people).
I loved drawing Tarsien fending off the crabs. Originally there were four of them, I think... but I redrew the linework for scratch so it'd be clean enough to colour... and that took a long time, so I cut out some of the detail.
Really? Aww, thank you! I'm very pleased with this one, because of all the time I spent on it... I was doing a lot of experimenting with lighting textures and elements I hadn't drawn before (i.e. waves and sand, it was a little scary to attempt them) so I'm very glad you like it!

Hahah yes, I don't know if I've ever spent this long on a picture before. Although I want to do it more often so I can learn more.
I like him looking out toward the sky, becuase that's something I like to do, too. Particularly if its a stunning sunset. ^^
I started with the foreground, and by the time I reached the background I'd learned a lot and was starting to enjoy myself more. Although the sky was one of the quickest parts, its one of my favourites. So thank you!
